Lightyear tells the action-filled, definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy. He's one of those characters, that if you grew up with the Toy Story films, you'll still love him! He's so popular with little boys that the producers of the Toy Story toy boxes actually had a contest to see who could fill out the most unique character boxes. We know they were in fact in American stores by the time the DVD release came out! But still, the Toy Story DVDs is great, and I recommend them for the kids - you can buy them anywhere from a dollar to about $40.īuzz is one of those characters that is so beloved by so many people that I almost listed him as a character meant to be funny, but then I remembered how much I loved the Toy Story toy box, so I put him on the list instead. Both of these toys were included with some Japanese DVD's when the movie was released in Japan, but they weren't available in North America at that point. When Buzz Lightyear goes inside the toy box on the movie's final page, he pops out a couple of toys that are included with the movie: a police car, and a minibus. Buzz lives in a toy box on the surface of a volcano that also contains Woody and Buzz Lightyear toys. Woody has a green and orange vest that has the logo of Buzz Lightyear on it, a bow and arrow that's on his belt, a baseball bat, and a rubber Buzz Lightyear "stunt vehicle" (which is the toy that he runs on).
In addition to his more popular friend, sheriff Woody, he also is one of the main two main characters in all four Toy Story films. He's a toy Space Ranger type superhero and an alien action figure also in the series. Buzz Lightyear is a minor character in the Toy Story series.
